It is termed as a wholesome food, prized for its nutritional, medicinal, therapeutic and culinary uses and is highly recommended for diabetics…it beats fatigue, heals wounds faster, thins blood, dissolve bad cholesterol, reduce weight, improves heart health, etc. Being cold in nature it balances issues caused due to kapha and pitta doshas, as per Ayurveda.
The wonder of these positive millets is it is not only nutritious, but highly healing of the various body parts. USP of this easy to grow hardy millet is the red colour the water gets immediately after soaking it revealing its water soluble high nutrition nature. Most can feel the effect on our body within few days of Kodo millet consumption.
It is listed as one of the positive millets in the five positive millets called *Siridhanya* by *Padmashree Dr Khader Vali* (He is instrumental in bringing back millets into our dining table)
