Epiphyllum oxypetalum locally known as Brahmakamal. Original Brahmakamal is found in Northern India. This is night blooming flower variety and comes in varied colours. Since it prefers moist humid climate and lukewarm sun, we need to give similar and controlled conditions for the plant to flourish. It has to be provided indirect bright light (Not to be kept in direct harsh sun) and moist humid climate like in the monsoon, but the soil must be well draining. If such conditions are provided it can bloom many times a year, otherwise we see blooms mostly in monsoon climate. Make its potting mix rich in compost then add compost once a year as it is a minimum care plant. Keep a bowl of water in its pot to keep its surroundings moist in very dry sunny days to get best result. Another uniqueness of this plant is it multiplies and flowers from leaf ends. It can be easily propagated through leaf cuttings.
