Sterculia Foetida..Jungli Badam, Indian almond, jewel box (as seed pod looks like one) are some of the local names for this tall, edible, tropical medicinal and commercial used tree. The flowers give a odour when in bloom hence the second name “Foetida”. It is commonly found in our forests and also used as Avenue trees along pathways. Medicinally used to reduce acidity, joint pains, fevers, skin ailments,etc…parts used r seeds, bark, leaf in ayurveda. Very easy to grow biodiversity enhancing tree.
