There r predominantly 4 varieties available in the market…pink skin with white flesh, pink skin with pink flesh, pink skin with purple flesh and yellow skin with white flesh, all of which with thick leathery leafy skins. All varieties have edible seeds in pulp and the red, purple flesh and yellow skin variety r sweet in taste whereas white flesh is bland hinting towards sourness. Though these r from cacti family, they need regular watering, but no water logging. They need good sun through the day, but temperatures above 40’C can cause yellowing and infection in skin.
