Basic guide to home garden
In continuation with our series on easy to grow/care of indoor plants for beginners:
Another humid climate and moisture loving plant is Spider plant. There r around 15 regular and variegated varieties to checkout from when u buy, for those who donot receive direct sunlight or hv bright indirect light spots in their home/garden that needs to be filled. Supposedly, a NASA recommended plant that helps in air purification, it can be grown in hanging pots, small pots, vertical gardens and as boundaries and for landscaping in shaded grounds. Regular misting of leaves keeps it happy. Overwatering, underwatering, dry climates can make its tip burn and turn yellow.
Avoid keeping it in dry areas as they love moisture at all times..so keeping them bunched together helps as it retains the moisture.
Manure requirements is minimal …manuring with old cowdung compost/home compost for nitrogen twice a year in Feb and September is preferred.
Can add banana peel, onion peel, vegetable peel water, etc (soaked overnight) instead of plain water to spider plants
Another big advantage is it throws baby spider sprigs regularly helping one to increase its collection even if we just buy one plant.
