Originally from America now widely found in tropical regions of the world, it can be very easily grown in pots and multiplied just by cuttings or by seeds. A non fussy plant to grow and best part is unlike regularly spinach that needs to be sown repeatedly, this plant is perennial and can be harvested repeatedly. It looks bful ornamentally due to the delicate pink blooms and is also used medicinally as well as in culinary recipes. It can be added in salads, soups, curries and sabzis. A non fussy plant that doesn’t require anything much more than water and sun and manuring twice a year.
Due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and anti-oxidant properties, it helps heal eye ailments, skin and digestive issues.
So let us make this perennial plant a part of every kitchen/veg garden
