Cordia Dichotoma/myxa..local names Bokar, Lasooda, Gunda, etc. A highly medicinal tropical tree found in North and West of India. This sticky gummy fruit is useful for Cough, removing Pitta, strengthening bones there by cure for bone related diseases, stomach ailments, reproductive ailments, etc. Raw bokar sabzi and pickle is popular and ripe ones are eaten and laddoos are made of it. All parts – bark, fruit and root are used. A huge tree with dropping branches looks ornamental and attracts lots of bees, birds and butterflies increasing biodiversity.
