Poll question: Is pruning required for every plant?
Yes
No
Depends on plant variety

Ans: Old seed grown trees do not generally go through the pruning process unless the tree is tilting to one side and may fall like avenue trees. Pruning is done to maintain balance, in this case.
Forest trees grow in their own wild abundance, ofcourse, with zero human interference.
Grafted trees need regular methodical pruning in the right season and time to give good yield. Cutting out unnecessary vegetative growth helps the tree focus its energy on fruit production
Potted plants and garden plants need to trimmed to keep them in shape and size, to enable to have multiple branches and thick canopies to make it look bushy and attractive and also to create topiaries and live plant sculptures.
Some plants donot tolerate any pruning as they r monocotyledon like palm varieties like coconut, betetnut, banana varieties, etc
